Introducing Pinakin Patel’s New Spring Summer 2016 Collection

Pinakin Patel’s thorough understanding of Indian heritage, free spirited creativity and modern sensibilities provided the impetus for brand Pinakin. The brand’s journey began with creating India’s first lifestyle and furniture store, followed by the establishment of Mumbai’s premier interior design and architecture firm – Pinakin Design LLP.

Today, his free spirited creativity, modern sensibilities, and aesthetics rooted in Indian heritage have reached new highs and have forayed into the world of fashion.

After the launch of his debut collection, designer Pinakin Patel has now created a new line for this Spring Summer 16. The collection is European in sensibility and Indian in soul. Hues of pink, white, indigo, neon and red are seen throughout  making it apt for summer.

For over four decades, he  has set the benchmark in creating spaces and furniture that distinctly reflect his own unique sensibility. Using his interest in fashion and styling, Pinakin has launched a nouveau line for this season.

Neither “fusion nor indo-western”, the collection’s impression is global in its identity.

The Collection:

Inspired by the simultaneousness of a fast life, the collection is an array of looks that are sporty yet formal, layered but yet simple. From brocade tops to neoprene skirts, it is the perfect blend of sport and glamour.

Just like his architecture and interior designs, Pinakin has emphasized on the body language being comfortable and serene.Pinakin Patel’s thorough understanding of Indian heritage, his free spirited creativity and modern sensibilities honed over the years are now providing the impetus for Pinakin Fashion.

The setting for the preview was wonderful. A tunnel made of twigs, blue bulbs and cherry blossoms led to the main exhibition area. Wooden ladders with floral arrangement were placed as racks for displaying garments. Loved the detail and effort Maheka and her team put in.

Garments at Display

The collection had plenty of options to choose from wrap maxis , jump suits , palazzo pants ,off shoulder dresses , structured dresses and embellished skirts.

The Indian wear has lots of whites and pastels again in her trademark embroidery and mix of tie and dye fabrics.

Me at the event 🙂

I particularly loved the off shoulder tie-dye dresses and the mini skirts.

Fun drinks and finger food complemented this lovely showcase.

The collection is now available at her flagship store located at Prabhadevi Mumbai
